Ask me in 5 years if "Boys & Girls" made it onto the Best Songs Ever list. Cause it just might.
You will never see a Brittany Howard on American Idol among the admittedly talented yet utterly unoriginal and forgettable Adele-wanna-be's. Neither are you likely to see an Alabama Shakes (or Over the Rhine or Langhorne Slim, for that matter) on the Grammy's alongside the sound-alike, gotta-get-naked-cause-that's-all-I-got Rihanna/Katy Perry/Nicki Minaj types. Sadly, you might never know that there is a world of amazingly talented and completely unique people out there making some of the best art imaginable because they will probably never get the airtime or press they honestly deserve (although you could argue they will be better for it).
And that is why I love the Internet. Amen.

Hey now, Nicki Minaj occasionally writes some really good, to the heart stuff. People just over look it because she raps it, but that doesn't make the message of standing strong any less important. There is some other real junk in there though, admittedly, especially with the other two...
"All the girls will come in as long as they understand
That I'm fighting for the girls that never thought they could win.
Cause before they could begin you told them it was the end
But I am here to reverse the curse that they live in."
Nothing wrong with that, I think, nothing at all!
