This week's project has been a complete studio re-do thanks to a friend who not only has great ideas but tons of energy inspiring me to keep it going. I don't know how she does it and makes it look so easy, but I can't think of anything or anyone else who could convince me to take out every single piece of paper and every scrap of fabric--everything!--out of my studio, organize it, rework the space, then put it all together again. What is amazing is that I'm almost done and I don't think I've ever seen it this organized or uncluttered. It is a real life miracle.
I'll have some before and after shots for you later, but now, instead of showing you my chaos, I'll show you someone else's beauty, traveling all the way from Iowa.
Mailart from my sweet friend Randi who knew I would appreciate the fabric and stitching. If you're not familiar with her work, do yourself a favor and go checkout her website. Amazing! I can't think of anyone who has influenced my journaling more. She really inspires me to focus on the meaning within my pages rather than just making pretty pictures. I promise, you will be left wanting more so also check out her book and blog. Randi always has thoughtful things to say that you'll be left pondering for days.
Well, back to work for me. Most of the clean-up is done and I want to make space for mailart and other artwork from friends to take center stage among all the pretty things.

You will have to give me some hints on some things that work for you in your studio. Mine is about done and I have been trying to mentally get some ideas on how to organize it.

Oh, you couldn't lend me your friend, could you? ;-)))
This card you got is really beautiful.
Have fun with your own mailart (which without a doubt will be beautiful as well).
